UK Cognitive Linguistics Conferences (UK-CLA affiliate and others)Upcoming conferencesThe international conference on Language, Communication and Cognition will take place on the Grand Parade campus of the University of Brighton, August 4th-7th 2008. Keynote speakers: Lera Boroditsky, Herbert H. Clark, Adele Goldberg, Sotaro Kita, George Lakoff, Michael Tomasello. Abstracts to be submitted electronically to lcc@brighton.ac.uk . Deadline for abstracts: November 26th 2007. The Second UK Postgraduate Conference in Cognitive Linguistics (PGCCL) is a one-day satellite event following on to to the above LCC conference on Friday, 8th August 2008. University of Brighton Grand Parade campus, Brighton, U.K. Deadline for paper and poster abstracts: April 2, 2008. The 3rd UK Cognitive Linguistics Conference will be hosted at the University of Hertfordshire, UK, 6th-8th July 2010. A call for papers will be posted in due course. Past conferences2nd Conference of the UK-Cognitive Linguistics Association: New Directions in Cognitive Linguistics, hosted at Cardiff University, August 27-30, 2007 Symposium on Language, Communication & Cognition, a workshop held jointly by the University of Portsmouth and the University of Sussex, took place May 25-26th 2006, in Brighton, Sussex, U.K. First UK Postgraduate Conference in Cognitive Linguistics (PGCCL), a one-day conference, followed on to the above symposium on Saturday, 27th May 2006. Dept. of Linguistics and English Language, University of Sussex, Brighton, U.K. New directions in Cognitive Linguistics: First UK Cognitive Linguistics conference (UK-CLC 1), University of Sussex, Brighton, U.K., 23-25 October 2005. The organizers are editing a volume based on the conference. Language, Culture and Mind: Integrating Perspectives and Methodologies, University of Portsmouth, England, 18-20 July, 2004.
